Job Purpose
The Gender Officer leads on “Leave no one behind” agendas to be integrated into IRP’s Humanitarian and development programming, ensures commitments towards Gender & Justice, IASC Gender/GBVs Guidelines and Standards at in project target districts of Balochistan. Responsible for promoting gender equality and women\\\\\\\'s empowerment within organization by designing implementing, monitoring and reporting on programs and ensuring that gender considerations are integrated into all aspects including conducting gender analysis, training staff on gender sensitivity and collaborating with stakeholders to identify and address gender base challenges.

The following are the main responsibilities that the role holder will be accountable for:
Gender Integration:
Ensure that gender considerations are incorporated into all aspects of project planning, gender analysis, implementation, and monitoring.
Develop gender-sensitive frameworks for disaster risk reduction and resilience-building.
Promote gender-responsive policies and strategies across all project components.
Capacity Building:
Conduct training and workshops for project staff, stakeholders, and local communities to enhance gender awareness in the context of DRR and Resilience.
Provide technical support on gender equality issues related to disaster preparedness, response and recovery.
Advocacy and Stakeholder Engagement:
Engage with local governments, NGOs and other stakeholders to advocate for gender-inclusive DRR policies.
Coordinate and participate in community-level consultations to ensure that gender perspectives are considered in disaster risk management.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
Develop gender-sensitive indicators for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of project activities.
Regularly assess the impact of the project on gender equality and recommend adjustments to improve outcomes.
Research and Reporting
Conduct gender analysis to identify gender-specific needs and vulnerabilities in disaster risk contexts.
Prepare reports, case studies, and documentation related to gender in DRR and resilience-building efforts.
Collaboration and Networking:
Collaborate with other sectoral officers to integrate gender perspectives into different aspects of the project.
Build partnerships with women’s organizations, gender equality advocates and other relevant actors to promote project objectives.
Technical:
- Work closely with Area Programme Manager, Sector Specialists to support CHS commitments and accountability components are addressed in IR response projects.
- Support the development and delivery of gender, disability inclusive and accountable Humanitarian projects/programmes under protection mainstreaming umbrella.
- Support P&I Specialist for network with key external stakeholders to find areas of collaboration, best practice, innovation, knowledge sharing and partnerships.
- Identify training needs and build the capacity of IR local staff on gender, disability inclusion and protection.
- Ensure SADD data collection mechanisms are in place and data is collected and analyzed periodically
- Conduct field levels conflict sensitivity analysis exercise with relevant stakeholders and ensure IR programmes “Do no harm” in their communities.
- Ensure gender, age and diversity analysis is done and updated regularly to respond to beneficiaries needs.
- Support on gender, disability inclusion and protection for new bids and proposals to ensure it is weaved into planning phase.
- Proactively exchange learning and synergy with all involved stakeholders.
- Draft relevant sections of reports required for donors and management.
- Collaborate with Monitoring and Evaluation personnel for timely evaluation of projects.
- Participate and influence external platforms on disability, protection and inclusivity.
Operational:
- Preparation of weekly / monthly work plans by ensuring timely completion of assigned tasks in stipulated time period.
- Maintenance of hard record that includes field visits reports, meeting minutes, data, record & other documentation.
- Close coordination with line manager and Technical Specialist for effective implantation of gender inclusion initiatives.
Organizational:
- Ensure compliance with IR’s policies & procedures in true spirit for effective delivery of services to communities.
- In depth understanding of IR values and their demonstration in the field while working with communities.
- Abide by the IR zero tolerance policy towards bribery & corruption through sensitization / empowerment of communities on coping mechanism so that they can raise voice as & when feel inappropriate.
- Thorough knowledge of IR strategic priorities to ensure effective implementation with future sustainability.
- Assist in identification & documentation of organizational successes for show casing IR work
- Facilitate communities in adaptation of environment friendly & cost effective approaches to meet their current as well as future needs with specific attention to climate change.
- Focused efforts to be made for mainstreaming of marginalized groups i.e. Persons with disability and old age, minorities, Women & children etc in consultation & implementation of project activities at ground.
- Strengthen mechanism to Influence the decision makers through communities to pay attention towards DRR planning, give voice to suffering and the excluded, highlighting the protection needs of people
- Participation and facilitation in implementation of IR seasonal programmes.

To cater to the higher living cost, IR Pakistan is transferring the exchange gain (PKR-GBP) on salary to staff at a prevailing conversion rate till further notice. Salaries are paid in local currency.
