The Managing Director of the Company has international experience of running the general insurance operations of an insurance company based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). EFU General has over 64 branches situated throughout the country and employs over 1,000 individuals at its Head Office and in the branch network. In 2004 EFU General's total premium income was Rs. 4.8 billion. In 1992, the Government of Pakistan opened up life insurance to the private sector and EFU Life Assurance Ltd was incorporated in 1992 as the first private sector life insurance company.
