IRC has been working in Pakistan for over 30 years, and manages & delivers large, complex programs to meet needs in health, education, protection, environmental health and livelihoods for displaced, poor & conflict-affected communities. IRC works in partnership with local government and non-governmental organizations and currently works in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh provinces.

Job Overview/Summary:

 

Under the administrative supervision of the Head of Office Sindh, the Senior Reporting Officer’s primary responsibility will be to provide and coordinate reporting, support and assist the day-to-day management of tasks and program support related to Disaster Risk Reduction and food security to flood affected populations in Sindh. The position technically reports to the Manager Awards Management based at country office

Major Responsibilities:

 

Reporting

·       Contribute in the development of project progress reports, activity/ event and field visit reports

·       Support sector heads in collecting and analyzing information for the project reports

·       Review reports received from country office or partners/stakeholders and share feedback

·       Prepare sector updates for factsheets, newsletters or other internal or external publications

·       Coordinate reporting activities;

·       Provide technical support, training and clarification on reporting policies;

 

Information Management

·       Assist in collecting, compiling, organizing and storing the flow of information and files produced within the projects to  support  vulnerable population

·       Maintain the information at office level that can be helpful for project, reporting and any new initiatives

·       Update program information and provide relevant project documentation, for monthly/quarterly reports, monitoring tools, fact sheets etc.

·       Maintain and disseminate program schedules, monitoring tools and calendars among the program team.

·       Maintain projects information including reports, database, pictures, videos, meeting minutes and presentations

·       Monitor and review regular sources of information and data required for preparation of reports, e.g., information from field teams, other IRC offices, news clippings, surveys;

·       Gather and analyze information about donor policies, trends and preferences;

·       Compile field level information required for operational reports to donors;

 

Coordination

·       Provide administrative and organizational support to Coordinator and Senior Managers in briefing and site visits

·       Participate in professional training and development activities as necessary.

·       Represent the organizations at different clusters and other forums

·       Liaise as needed with Country Office, NGOs and other UN agencies;

·       Contribute to preparedness actions such as early warning, risk analysis and contingency planning and make recommendations.

 

Day To Day Tasks Management

·       Arrange progress review meetings, as and when necessary; record and disseminate minutes of meetings

·       Assist the Provincial/Livelihoods Coordinator in internal and external communication matters, including the development of a sound communication plan

·       Take minutes of the meetings and report writing

 

Program Support

·       Support the Program Teams in drafting concept papers, project proposals, log-frames, work plans, budgets, project reports and reviews,   

·       Assist program units in organizing and conducting impact studies, baseline studies, assessments and surveys.

·       Conduct field visits for recording program reports, write case studies, research studies

·       Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Job Requirements:

Education:

Master degree in management, communication field or social sciences.

Work Experience:

A minimum of 3 years of experience in I/NGO related to reporting and communication, coordination and information management; and advanced training/courses in English, social sciences, international relations, communications, or other related fields

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

·       Advanced knowledge of  software (Microsoft Windows, MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint),

·       Ability to use digital video and still cameras;

·       Ability to make powerpoint and other types of presentations;

·       Ability to meet deadlines and remain cool under pressure; and

·       Experience in report/grant writing;

·       Excellent communication and analytical skills

·       Team worker with flexibility;

·        

Language Skills: 

Strong English language skills both written and oral; knowledge of local languages including Sindhi

 

Desirable criteria:  

Past work experience on integrated DRR projects
